RegionSmart brings together smart people to build a better community by advocating for, educating about, and implementing best practices and innovative solutions for land use and city-building efforts in the MidSouth.

We do this by offering a variety of programs that are powered by the professional credibility and volunteer impact of ULI Memphis’ members and our other community partners.

In 2007, Boyle, Belz Enterprises, Henry Turley Company, LRK, and Poag Lifestyle Centers founded the ULI Memphis district council. In conjunction with the national organization, ULI Memphis educates and advocates best practices in land use planning and sustainability by bringing together smart people to build strong communities.

In 2013, the Mid-South Mayors Council convened a group of regional mayors from the tri-state area to collectively discuss topics of regional importance. They meet several times a year around topics such as workforce development, education, transportation and regional planning.

In 2015, we launched RegionSmart as a one-day events to bring together citizen leaders to demonstrate the power of regional collaboration.

In 2019, RegionSmart, Inc. the organization was founded to channel local resources into community-based development projects. RegionSmart serves as the convening organization for the Mid-South Mayors Council, RegionSmart events, and will also convene new programs like the Developer Pathways program and others.
